Volvo is a premium brand recognized worldwide as safest car on road. His entire car has achieved 5 star rating in Euro NCAP testing and good records on other testing organization worldwide as well. Latest offering the V40 has surprised testing agencies on the record breaking on history of achievement on testing in 2012.
In Malaysian perspective owing a Volvo is very expensive due very bad resale value include claim of difficulties of getting spare part and high maintenance cost. It is really that bad. Beware used car dealer use this reason to bargain a lower price to purchase the Volvo car from you. End up when you check the second hand used volvo car price much higher than what you have sold to the same used car dealer before. Why !!! Yes somehow the maintenance cost and spare parts are expensive but do a calculation and study.
The expensive spare parts due very low demand as Volvo car seldom breakdown or part not easily spoiled compared to Japanese car. No imitation parts available due low demand. Maintenance is use high grade of engine oil, full variable checking, original parts and professional care in ensure your Volvo car performance is maintain.
Came back to Volvo V40 the car is extremely superb. As I can say it is perfect car in terms of safety and comfort. The continental feeling is well presented even though this model is now fully CKD production in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
TheV40 T4 & T5 is powered 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine similar in the current S60 and V60 T4. Power by six-speed dual-clutch power shift transmission is easily generate 180 hp and 240 Nm of torque. On top , its easily reached 8.5 second from 0-100 km/h sprint, and tested top speed up to a 225 km/h.
Further, the wheel of T4 wrap with 16-inch five-spoke (Matres) and T5’s are an extra inch in Segomo’ design . Meanwhile V40 Cross Country loaded with 17-inch six-spoke (Larenta) wheels as standard with optional 19-inch Alecto’.
Standard safety list includes a cruise control, torque vectoring, cross traffic alert, BLIS, city safety cruise, dynamic stability, traction control, and active bending lights plus seven airbags (with a knee airbag on the driver’s side).
Generous equipment list continue with memory function electric front seat, fold-flat rear seats, automatic climate control, auto wipers, flexible boot floor , keyless entry for The T5 and Cross Country model with Park Assist Pilot (auto park) .However the Pedestrian Airbag as standard in European model not included.
